Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:1-3 (KJV) "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear."

Faith is described as the "substance of things hoped for" and the "evidence of things not seen." This means that faith is not just a passive belief but an active trust in God's promises, even when they are not visible to us.
The elders, or the heroes of faith mentioned in this chapter, lived their lives based on this trust. They believed in God's promises and acted upon them, even when the fulfillment of those promises seemed impossible. Application:
